greater than year earlier levels for pork, poultry, beef, vegetables,
and orange juice. Cooler stocks of pecans were also above last year.
Total red meat supplies in freezers were 3 percent above March 2002
and 29 percent above April 2001. Frozen pork stocks were 6 percent
above last month and 31 percent above last year. Stocks of pork
bellies were 4 percent above last month and 44 percent above April
2001 stocks. Total frozen poultry supplies on April 30, 2002, were
up 8 percent from last month and were 30 percent above last year's
level. Total stocks of chicken were up 5 percent from last month
and were 30 percent above last year. Total pounds of turkey in
freezers increased 12 percent from last month and 30 percent
